Text from a feminist friend this a.m.: "Good morning! Girl you’re doing important work. Outstanding read. It’s important we push back on factually phony stereotypes, to not only help protect our men and our boys but even women's perceptions of themselves."

The very first person I interviewed when I got WIBM up and running five years ago was Ann Silvers, author of Abuse of Men By Women. She mentioned the female-on-male punch at the end of Frozen as an example of media portraying positively women's violence against men. Since that time I have not heard another person call that out as problematic. Thank you for doing so and for including the clip.

Great job talking about the policy of mandatory arrest. Washington is one of the states with this policy (RCW 10.31.100 and 10.99.030). Our state's nonpartisan research institute did a study in 2022 that basically found no benefits to the policy. From time to time I ask around among legislators and advocacy organizations to see if there is interest in changing our mandatory arrest policy. So far I have not found interest, despite what that 2022 study showed.
